कांग्रेस की टूट का लम्बा सिलसिला

भारत के सबसे पुराने राजनीतिक दल भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस का गठन 1885 में हुआ था और इस पार्टी ने देश की आज़ादी की लड़ाई में बड़ा योगदान दिया था। आजादी के बाद इसी पार्टी ने सबसे अधिक समय तक देश पर शासन किया। 1947 से अब तक टुकडों-टुकड़ों में कांग्रेस ने कोई 54 साल तक केंद्र की सरकार चलाई।

इस बीच पार्टी का कई बार विभाजन हुआ और वर्तमान कांग्रेस भी इसका एक धड़ा ही था जिसे कांग्रेस (आई) यानी कांग्रेस इंदिरा कहा जाता था। बाद में चुनाव आयोग ने इसे ही असली कांग्रेस का दर्जा दे दिया। जवाहर लाल नेहरू के नाती और इंदिरा गाँधी के बेटे राजीव गाँधी की पत्नी सोनिया गाँधी इस समय कांग्रेस की अध्यक्ष हैं। उन्होंने 1998 में कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष का पद संभाला था। एक छोटे से दौर में उनके पुत्र राहुल गांधी पार्टी अध्यक्ष बने थे, पर 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में पार्टी की पराजय के बाद उन्होंने अध्यक्ष पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया। उसके बाद सोनिया गांधी फिर से का4यकारी अध्यक्ष की भूमिका निभा रही हैं। पार्टी के अध्यक्ष का चुनाव जून में कराने की योजना थी, पर महामारी के कारण यह चुनाव फिर टल गया है।

1991 में राजीव गाँधी की हत्या से लेकर 1998 तक कांग्रेस की कमान पीवी नरसिंहराव और सीताराम केसरी ने संभाली थी। बहुत समय तक गठबंधन की राजनीति से परहेज करने के बाद कांग्रेस ने सन 2004 के चुनाव के पहले पूरे देश में गठबंधन करने का फ़ैसला किया। गठबंधन के प्रमुख साथियों में एनसीपी या राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस भी थी, जो कांग्रेस से टूटकर बनी पार्टी थी।

एनसीपी का गठन कांग्रेस पार्टी के सबसे ताज़ा विभाजन के बाद हुआ था। पार्टी के तीन वरिष्ठ नेता शरद पवार, पीए संगमा और तारिक़ अनवर ने यह तर्क देकर पार्टी छोड़ दी थी कि वे विदेशी मूल के किसी व्यक्ति को प्रधानमंत्री बनाने के ख़िलाफ़ हैं। ज़ाहिर है कि वे सोनिया गाँधी को प्रधानमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार बनाए जाने के ख़िलाफ़ थे। एनसीपी ने सोनिया गाँधी के नेतृत्व वाली कांग्रेस से 2000 में मिलकर महाराष्ट्र में सरकार बनाई। इसके बाद से कांग्रेस और एनसीपी का गठजोड़ किसी न किसी रूप में चल रहा है। इस दौरान एनसीपी का भी विभाजन हुआ। इस समय देश के प्रमुख सक्रिय दलों में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के अलावा एनसीपी, तृणमूल कांग्रेस और वाईएसआर कांग्रेस ऐसी पार्टियाँ हैं, जो कांग्रेस से टूटकर बनी हैं। इनके अलावा अनेक छोटे-छोटे दल कांग्रेस से टूटे नेताओं ने बनाए हैं। विकीपीडिया के इस चार्ट में बीसवीं सदी में कांग्रेस में हुई बड़ी टूटों का रोचक विवरण है।
