गणतंत्र दिवस की छुट्टी के कारण आज देश के काफी शहरों से अखबार नहीं निकलते। हालांकि अब यह गए जमाने की बात है कि एक दिन खबर विहीन हो जाता है। अब तो 24 घंटे के न्यूज चैनल हैं। फिर भी प्रिट मीडिया सोचने-विचारने के लिए कुछ छोड़ जाता है। टीवी चैनलों का एक दोष यह है कि वे सब एक दूसरे की नकल करते हैं। अखबारों के सोच-समझ में अंतर दिखाई पड़ता है। मसलन आज के जागरण की लीड है कि गणतंत्र परेड में भी सियासत झलकी। उसके अनुसार कांग्रेस शासित राज्यों की झाँकियाँ बढ़-चढ़कर थीं और दूरदर्शन की कमेंट्री में सरकारी संदेश छिपे थे। गणतंत्र दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर राष्ट्रपति के राष्ट्र के नाम संदेश पर आज टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया में विवेचन है। अखबार ने कई विश्लेषकों से बात की। इनमें विनोद मेहता को इस रूप में उधृत किया है, 'With Mukherjee's remarks that "populist anarchy" could not be a "substitute for governance" being seen as a reference to the recent Aam Aadmi Party dharna, Outlook editor in chief Vinod Meta said, "I can't remember the last time the President's speech was on page one of newspapers since it is usually full of platitudes." 

Mehta said he found it a "matter of concern that such a speech has been made since the President's office is seen as above politics. But the reference to constitutional anarchy clearly refers to AAP as it is so close to the Delhi protests. I don't think there is any ambiguity.
